Nearly 2,400 flags are on display for Memorial Day at the USS Arizona Memorial visitor center

    Volunteers on Thursday placed 2,390 flags at the USS Arizona Memorial visitor center, each with the name of a service member or civilian who died as a result of the Pearl Harbor attack.

    2,390 flags, each with the name of a service member or civilian who was killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor, were attached onto railings at the memorial.

Approximately 2,390 military members and civilians were killed in the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor, which would forever change the nation, according to the National Park Service. Read more
