Bert Oshiro’s letter sadly demonstrates a blind devotion to an unfit and corrupt president (“Time and again, Dems wrong about Trump,” Star-Advertiser, May 23).
Apparently, Oshiro hasn’t read the Mueller report and wholeheartedly accepts the misleading summary by Attorney General William Barr and false claims of exoneration by President Donald Trump. The report plainly details evidence of at least 10 acts of obstruction of justice by Trump, who avoided indictment only due to Justice Department policy against prosecuting a sitting president. Why is Trump resisting release of the unredacted report and preventing witnesses to testify?
Oshiro conveniently — or deliberately — ignores that the U.S. House has been very productive since Democrats took control earlier this year, passing bills relating to the budget, immigration and border protection (even wall construction, which Trump inexplicably rejected), voting rights, environment, equal pay, gun violence, Medicaid, disaster relief. Unfortunately, the Senate is still under Republican control.
Please, Mr. Oshiro, think for yourself, don’t swallow every Fox News or Trump sound bite.
