The comments by Shirlene DelaCruz Santiago Ostrov regarding the sad mess at the Daniel K. Inouye Airport are absolutely correct (“Why the Inouye International Airport remains in disrepair,” Star-Advertiser, Island Voices, June 10).
It’s a disgrace, no question about it. The blame is squarely on the good-old-boy Democrats in the House and Senate who continue to rule island politics unabated year after year, led by a do-nothing Democratic governor.
The airport really is an embarrassment to our state and has been for years, yet politicians continue to ignore the problem. Same with the lack of interest regarding the disgusting condition of our state roads (the worst in the nation), and the need to relocate and build a much-needed jail to replace the old, dilapidated facility in Kalihi.
The problem is with the same old Democrats that voters keep electing year after year.
Can’t you see the obvious? Throw the bums out!
