What is happening to the Oahu criminal justice system?
The Honolulu prosecuting attorney is on a paid leave of absence due to being a target in a federal investigation. His deputy prosecutor also is on paid leave due to being a subject of a federal probe.

A plea deal was reached for a case in which the person who was charged with second-degree murder pleaded to no contest to first-degree assault.
A drunken driver who killed a man pleaded no contest and was sentenced to five years’ probation and given a one-year prison term, but was only required to serve 30 days.
And finally, the former Honolulu police chief and his wife, another deputy prosecutor, are on trial for numerous charges.
