The Kealohas’ being found guilty of various crimes is a step in the right direction, but is far from making our Honolulu and Hawaii government and bureaucracy an ethical place. There are so many questionable decisions being made that it would take a small book to list them all.
One prime example is the mismanagement of the rail project. I told my wife and many others that when it was approved, it would end up with rampant graft and corruption being done before all is said and done. I still believe that and personally think that the federal government should investigate many of our over-budget and unnecessary government projects.
A prime example is the Aloha Stadium rust fiasco when we were told, “Don’t worry, it will only rust to a certain point.”
It’s sad when the people we elect and those whom they appoint enrich themselves at taxpayers expense.
