I live below the Haiku Stairs and witness numerous rescues by our courageous first responders.
During one of their rescue operations, the helicopter was so close to the ridge that I feared for their safety. I hoped nothing would go wrong since it was windy.
If keeping the stairs open for hikers and tourists is more important than keeping our heroes safe, then shame on our mayor.
