Republicans have been saying that their commitment to protect the sanctity of human life is the centerpiece of their argument against abortion. But there seems to be an ideological inconsistency with that statement. Republicans’ penchant for deceptive rhetoric makes it difficult to discern their true intentions.
If the Republicans sincerely believe in what they’re saying, why are they eviscerating funding for social programs that help poor and hungry children? Why are they constantly making disparaging comments about poor working families who are seeking government assistance, by calling them dumb, lazy and moochers? Those demeaning and hurtful comments are untrue.
Government-assistance seekers are hard-working individuals. They hold multiple jobs just to make ends meet. They’re striving very hard to free themselves from the torturous grip of poverty.
What the Republicans are really saying is, they protect unborn children but once they are born, they are on their own. Republicans are again demonstrating their addiction to hypocrisy.
