Democrats who suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) and their use of hyperbole present a significant threat to our democracy and civility. The lack of acceptance that Donald J. Trump is our duly elected president, and continuous congressional acts to remove him from office, hinder our government’s ability to pass legislation needed to resolve challenges relating to immigration, health care, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and the national debt.
Democrats oppose any policy or action proposed by the president. They demonize him and terrorize his Cabinet and staff with the help of others who suffer from TDS. Tolerance of differing political views is not an option and civility shown by agreeing to disagree is non-existent. Hatred would best describe the feelings of TDS sufferers.
Instead, Democrats should formulate a meaningful agenda that appeals to all voters and recruit candidates who agree to propose legislation aimed at adoption and implementation of their good ideas. Simply opposing the president is not an effective roadmap to success in 2020.
