A majority of Americans think that President Donald Trump is a racist, according to a poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. After a recent Trump tweet, we are now certain that he is a racist.
Trump tweeted — presumably referring to four non-white members of Congress — that they should go back to the countries from which they came, even though three of them were born in the U.S.
That’s the latest in Trump’s escalating racist campaign, which has focused on immigration because recent immigrants are largely non-white. Trump is playing to his support base, which includes white supremacists, neo-Nazis and other racists. Although they are a minority, Trump has to keep them energized if he hopes to win re-election.
Our country was founded on the principle that everyone is created equal. Racism has no place in America. All who believe in America should oppose Trump.
