HAUS OPENS AT ALA MOANA
Friday marks the grand opening of Haus Supper Club, offering tapas, drinks, DJs, music, dancing and karaoke, all for “sophisticated adults.”
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a Hawaiian blessing; late-night partying continues until 4 a.m. Saturday.
The club is in Ala Moana Center’s Ho‘okipa Terrace. Regular hours will be 4:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, until 4 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Call 466-1888.
LOVE YOUR LIVER
Give your liver some love and attention via a cooking demonstration July 25 at Adventist Health Castle in Kailua.
Sheila Wrede, a holistic health coach who owns the company Wellness Becomes You, will lead the class, “Love and Support Your Liver – Salads Galore,” from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in Castle’s Wellness & Lifestyle Medicine Center Auditorium.
Wrede will teach the making of a fennel, apple, dandelion and arugula salad; a beet carrot cleanse drink; and a kale cranberry salad.

GREAT FOODS SOUGHT
Food producers are invited to take a stab at national recognition through the Good Food Awards, a competition that seeks out products crafted with taste and sustainability in mind.
Entries are being sought in categories of beer, charcuterie, cheese, chocolate, cider, coffee, confections, elixirs, honey, fish, oils, pantry, pickles, preserves, snacks and spirits, as well as in a new category of grains.
More than 2,000 entries are expected from all 50 states.
Deadline to enter is July 31; fill out an online form at goodfoodfdn.org/awards (entry fee is $78). A blind tasting of products will be held in September.
