I have been to the top of Mauna Kea many times and can testify to its sacred approval of the Thirty Meter Telescope project. It has spoken to me. The so-called protectors of the “sacred mountain” — actually obstructionists of scientific progress into the beautiful universe — need to step back and observe the rule of law.
Ten years of discussion and the Hawaii Supreme Court decision allowing the construction to begin is more than enough.
The “protectors” can pray to the mountain anywhere. They are in the minority blocking the TMT.
Let the rule of law put a stop to this foolishness. The time to build is now.
