Rail preview: Soft opening of Kapolei-to-Pearlridge route could happen next year

    The pedestrian bridge connects the UH-West Oahu side with the platform on the other side of Kualakai Parkway.

    Stairs and an escalator will lead passengers up to the bridge that crosses Kualakai Parkway and connects the West Oahu side where the passengers load onto the trains. The station might open next year.

The first section of the rail system might open to the public as early as October 2020, but the ride may be a little shorter than the rail authority had previously planned. Read more
