Crews contain brush fire across Alan Davis Beach

Traffic backed up this afternoon at Kealahou Street and Holokai Place.

Honolulu firefighters battled a brush fire across Alan Davis Beach this afternoon.

Crews responded to the scene at around 11:15 a.m. with a total of 11 units staffed with 33 personnel. Air 1 also responded.

The fire burned a total of four acres and was reported to be 100% contained at around 12:35 p.m.

Police temporarily closed the westbound lanes of Kalanianaole Highway by the entrance of the Hawaii Kai Golf Course due to limited visibility. The eastbound lanes were also shut down by Kalanianaole Highway and Kealahou Street.

Both directions of Kalanianaole Highway near Kealahou Street were reopened at around 4 p.m.

No structures were threatened by the fire and no injuries were reported.
