Hawaii County warns of scam using fire fighter association

Hawaii County is warning the public of a telephone scam, and callers pretend to represent the Fire Fighters Support Alliance.

The calls come from a local number, and the caller asks for donations to support the non-profit organization, the county said in a news release.

The matter was reported to the Hawaii County Police Department.

To report suspected telephone scams, call the Hawaii Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.
