Hawaiian Air flight lands safely after cabin fills with smoke

  • Passengers on a Hawaiian Airlines flight had to evacuate the plane from emergency slides Thursday, Aug. 22 after it landed in Honolulu due to reports of smoke in the cargo hold.

    The Hawaiian Airlines aircraft was towed from the runway, which was shut down for a couple of hours. The Airbus is a relatively new one.

First responders met Hawaiian Airlines Flight 47 on the runway and transported five adults and two children with minor smoke inhalation symptoms to area hospitals, official said. Read more
