A 43-year-old man was arrested today for investigation of robbery after he tried to steal about $20 in candy from a 7-Eleven in Kakaako, police said.

At about 3:55 a.m., the man entered the convenience store in a wheelchair, grabbed $19 worth of Mike and Ike candy, and tried to roll out, a police report said.

A 42-year-old woman who was working at the store was punched by the man when she tried to stop him, police said. The woman reported feeling pain from the attack, but no injuries.

Responding officers arrested the suspect at 7-Eleven, at 590 Queen St., on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
