Honolulu police are looking for a suspect after a male was shot in Wahiawa Wednesday morning.

The suspect, 53, was wearing all black and fled on a black motorcycle, police said.

He was last seen on California Avenue near Dole Road, a Honolulu Police Department spokeswoman said.

Investigators are looking into the whether the victim and suspect know each other, she said.

Police said the shooting occurred at a bus stop on California Avenue at about 10:30 a.m.

City Emergency Medical Services officials said paramedics responded about noon to Wahiawa General Hospital where a male had been taken with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, whose age was not given, had been taken to Wahiawa General in a private vehicle. The EMS crew responded to the hospital, treated the victim and transferred him in serious condition to a trauma center.

Honolulu police have shut down California Avenue and Dole Road, and were diverting traffic to Kalie Street this afternoon as they investigated. The roads are back open.
