Developer breaks ground on Waikiki rental tower

A few blocks from the planned Lilia tower is the site of the former King’s Village on Kaiulani Avenue, which was demolished to make way for a 32-story Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare tower. That project is expected to be completed at the end of 2021.

Brookfield Properties kicked off construction Tuesday on the Lilia Waikiki rental housing project, which includes a new tower on 2.5 acres. Oo sticks were used to lift soil during a blessing ceremony.
