The playing status of Hawaii junior Jolie Rasmussen is expected to remain doubtful for today’s volleyball match with UCLA as the outside hitter recovers from an ankle injury suffered Thursday against West Virginia in the 25th Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Challenge.
During Friday’s press conference, Rainbow Wahine coach Robyn Ah Mow said she had nothing to add.
Rasmussen, who leads the 18th-ranked Rainbow Wahine in kills (4.17 per set), went down with an injured right ankle with Hawaii leading 6-2 in Set 3 against the Mountaineers. She and West Virginia’s Briana Lynch tangled feet under the net following Rasmussen’s attack.

Lynch left the arena Thursday night without crutches but did not play in West Virginia’s loss to UCLA earlier Friday.
Rasmussen, who transferred from Oregon in the spring, was on crutches during Friday’s match against Utah Valley, her right foot in a walking boot. She had an injury-plagued career in three seasons with the Ducks, sitting out last season and taking a medical redshirt.
Rasmussen was named the Most Valuable Player in the season-opening Hawaiian Airlines Classic and then was named the Big West and National Player of the Week.
