I wouldn’t consider myself married to any one political party. My voting preferences are aimed at the person and what they bring to the office. Background and experience, trust and integrity, values and public service. These are the things I look for in making my vote.

Usually, that means I am voting Democrat. However, there is one Republican who has always gotten my vote: state Rep. Cynthia Thielen. She upholds all of the things I look for in our elected officials. She will be greatly missed but I wish her well as she transitions into a new life chapter.
