The National Weather Service has canceled a flood advisory for Oahu this afternoon after heavy rains slowed.

The advisory originally was set to expire at 3:30 p.m. today. At 12:34 p.m., radar showed heavy rain falling near Waialua at a rate of 1 to 2 inches an hour, the weather service had said.

Forecasters expect light winds through tonight with showers favoring windward and mauka areas. However, the weather service said today that Kauai and Oahu could see more showers through tonight.

For the work week, forecasters said, moderate trade winds are expected Monday through Thursday with a few passing showers in windward and mauka areas, especially at night and early morning.
