                                People performed hula during a protocol ceremony held at Kualoa Regional Park on Sunday. The gathering was the culminating event of a vehicular convoy, which began in east Kapolei and ended at Kualoa, as a show of solidarity against the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope on Mauna Kea in Hawaii.

The gathering was the culminating event of a vehicular convoy, which began in east Kapolei and ended at Kualoa, as a show of solidarity against the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope on Mauna Kea in Hawaii.

                                Calvin Hoe and his family hosted the convoy at Kualoa Regional Park. “What we’re trying to do is encourage every person here to be a leader,” said Hoe, the owner of Waiahole Poi Factory and a longtime activist. “That’s going to be the strength of our movement.”
