Central Pacific Bank said Tuesday it will start its Angel Tree giving campaign in collaboration with The Salvation Army beginning Friday. The Angel Tree collects gifts throughout the state for those in need during the holiday season.
Angel Trees are Christmas trees decorated with paper angel tag ornaments with the gift request of a keiki or senior in need. Donors can select one or more tags from the Angel Tree and purchase appropriate gifts for keiki or seniors described on the tags. Angel Trees will be available at all CPB branches, starting Friday, with gifts collected through Dec. 13 and monetary donations accepted through Dec. 31.
CPB last year collected more than $200,000 in monetary and gift donations for the Angel Tree program, and $1.3 million over the past nine years.
