    A dog died in a pedestrian crash Wednesday night on Kalalea Street in Hawaii Kai.

A dog died and a 42-year-old man was injured in a pedestrian crash Wednesday night in Hawaii Kai.

Honolulu police said the man was walking his dog in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a Nissan SUV heading town-bound on Kalalea Street.

The man was taken to a hospital in serious condition, but his dog died, police said.

The crash occurred at about 6:25 p.m.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was not injured and remained at the scene. His two passengers, both 17-year-old boys, were also not injured.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
