Roosevelt alum Starr Rivera and sophomore Abbey Noblett scored 25 points each as the No. 24 Hawaii Pacific (6-1, 1-0 PacWest) women’s basketball team upset No. 4 Azusa Pacific 86-75 on Friday at St. Francis’ Gym.
Laura Pranger and Molly Whitmore scored 13 points for the Cougars (7-1, 2-1 PacWest).
No. 23 Azusa Pacific downs HPU men
Hawaii Pacific’s Ronald Blain scored 16 points, but it wasn’t enough as the No. 23-ranked Azusa Pacific Cougars defeated the Sharks 71-62 on Friday at St. Francis’ gym.
The Sharks fell to 2-3 overall, 0-1 in the PacWest Conference, and the Cougars improved to 6-3 and 1-2.
Selom Mawugbe scored 17 points and Terrence Becvar added 15 to lead the Cougars.
