The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 69-year-old woman who died following a head-on car crash Saturday morning near Turtle Bay Resort as Aldana Soren-Kondo of Laie.

The cause and manner of death has not been determined yet, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police said the crash occurred about 9:05 a.m. Saturday near Turtle Bay Resort.

A 20-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet flatbed truck southbound on Kamehameha Highway when he veered into the oncoming lane and struck an oncoming Nissan vehicle, police said.

The truck driver and his passenger, an 18-year-old man, were both taken to an area hospital in serious condition. The woman, who was alone in the Nissan, was taken in critical condition to a hospital, where she died.

Police closed Kamehameha Highway in both directions for about three hours to investigate the crash.
