Opponents of the Thirty Meter Telescope project took a break from their Big Island vigil on Mauna Kea to travel to Oahu for an outreach mission.

                                Telescope opponents calling themselves kiai delivered a statement to the Consulate-General of Japan in Honolulu explaining their position and ongoing commitment to the protection of Mauna Kea. Makaio Villanueva held a sign on Nuuanu Avenue, fronting the Japanese Consulate, to garner support for their cause.
