The University of Hawaii football team is set to make two appearances on national television this coming football season, the Mountain West Conference announced today.

FS1, which is part of the Fox Sports networks, will televise the Rainbow Warriors’ road game against Wyoming on Friday, Oct. 30. That game initially was scheduled to be played on Oct. 31. Kick-off will be at 7:45 p.m. Mountain time (3:45 p.m. in Hawaii).

CBS Sports Network will televise the Nov. 21 game between at Boise State and UH at Aloha Stadium. That game is set to start at 6:05 p.m.

The Mountain West, of which UH is a football-only member, announced there will be 42 games involving league teams that will be televised on CBSSN or Fox Sports networks.

Meanwhile, Rainbow Warriors quarterback Chevan Cordeiro today was named one of the team’s co-captains for the 2020 season.

In the voting by the players, running back Miles Reed and safeties Eugene Ford and Khoury Bethley also were selected as a captain.

Cordeiro, a third-year sophomore, is a 2018 graduate of Saint Louis School.

“Just being born in Hawaii, watching Hawaii football, means a lot,” Cordeiro said of the selection,. “I mean, just playing in front of my family, in front of the fans, that stadium rocking — when they can come, when it’s safe to come. … It’s just an honor.”

Reed, a fourth-year junior from Corona, Calif., was sixth among Mountain West players with 908 rushing yards in 2019.

Ford, a senior from Venice, Calif., has started at every position in the secondary during his first three UH seasons. He was fifth on the team with 55 tackles last season. He also has received national recognition for his volunteer work.

Bethley, a junior from Chino Hills, Calif., was the Warriors’ leader in tackles (83) and solo stops (61) in 2019. Bethley starred in the 2019 SoFi Hawaii Bowl with two interceptions, including a pick in the final minute.
