Where would we be without security cameras? The owner of a motorcycle parked at a Kahului shopping center would be without a clue about who hit and damaged his bike.

The driver was identified in the video as Maui Police Chief Tivoli Faaumu. It’s impossible to tell whether Faaumu knew he had backed into the motorcycle with such a big truck.

But what is clear is that all of Maui knows about it now. We trust the chief will settle up the issue with the owner privately — even in a case that couldn’t be more public.
