Two men have been arrested and charged in connection to a Kakaako robbery that involved the men breaking into a residence and threatening those inside with a machete and firearms.

The incident took place just before 3 a.m. on Monday, the Honolulu Police Department reported. Dimian Ezekias, 44, and Pupuni Toki, 29, allegedly broke into the resident’s home, threatened the resident and her guests and took a rifle and other personal property.

Both men were arrested about two hours later and have since been charged, HPD reported.

Ezekias was arrested for first-degree robbery and criminal contempt of court, while Toki was arrested for first-degree robbery, kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threatening and third-degree promoting a detrimental drug.

Court documents available for Toki show that he was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening today. He is in custody and the First Circuit District Court has set his bail to $11,000.

Records are not available for Ezekias.
