A head-on collision near Waimea Bay left three people seriously injured this afternoon, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said.

The crash happened at about 2:20 p.m. near 61-230 Kamehameha Highway and Tutu Street.

Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Malcolm Medrano said the collision involved a Toyota Prius and a van. Two women were in the Prius and a man and woman were in the van, he said.

EMS treated a man in his 30s, a woman in her 30s, and a woman in her 20s for multiple serious injuries, EMS said.

HFD assisted EMS with the patients.

All three were taken to a hospital, but a man in his 20s refused transport, according to EMS.
