Unresponsive swimmer in Waikiki in critical condition

A 47-year-old man who was unresponsive in the ocean near Kapahulu Wall today is in critical condition after Honolulu Ocean Safety rescued him.

The Honolulu Emergency Medical Services reported that Ocean Safety responded to an incident about an unresponsive swimmer at around 4:30 p.m. Personnel brought the man to shore, where they performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

EMS administered life-saving treatment and transported the patient to an emergency room.
