Pedestrian killed in Pearl City remains unidentified

Police have not yet been able yet to identify the pedestrian who was struck and killed Saturday night by a Toyota sedan driven by a 57-year-old man in Pearl City.

The pedestrian, a woman who appears to be in her 40s, did not appear to be in a marked crosswalk when she was struck at about 7:35 p.m. on Waimano Home Road, police said.

The Toyota was heading south on Waimano Home Road, just south of Hoolana Street, when it hit the woman.

The driver remained on scene and was not injured.

The woman died at the scene.

Police said speed, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors to the collision.

The woman’s death is the 31st Oahu traffic fatality compared with the same number last year.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
