Rearview Mirror: Did Frank Sinatra launch Maui onions to celebrity status?

                                Frank Sinatra’s love of Maui onions appears to have raised their visibility and status on the mainland. Sinatra and Tom Selleck took a break during filming of a “Magnum P.I.” episode atop a Bethel Street building. Sinatra, a longtime fan of the show, played a retired New York detective who comes to Hawaii on a murder case and eventually teams up with Selleck.
