Marine Corps officially activates first Littoral Regiment

The 3rd Marine Infantry Regiment was officially redesignated as the 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment in a ceremony at Marine Corps Base Hawaii on Thursday. It will be the first Littoral Regiment, which is intended to be the model for all Marine regiments as the force redesigns. Pictured are Marines in formation before the ceremony commenced.
