In this combination of photos from video provided by ESPN, pitcher Kaiden Shelton of Pearland, Texas, pitched to Isaiah Jarvis of Tulsa, Okla., during a Little League Southwest Regional final in Waco, Texas, on Tuesday. On an 0-2 count, Shelton’s pitch got away from him and it slammed into Jarvis’ helmet. Jarvis crumpled to the ground clutching his head as his concerned coaches ran to his aid. Jarvis eventually got up and went to first base. That’s when Jarvis noticed that the pitcher was overcome with emotion because of the beaning. Jarvis then walked to the mound and hugged Shelton, telling him, “Hey, you’re doing great. Let’s go.”
