Friends and family gather for sportscaster Bobby Curran celebration of life

Friends and family gathered during a celebration of life for sportscaster Bobby Curran at Murphy’s Bar and Grill on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Honolulu. Bobby Curran, the longtime radio voice of University of Hawai'i football and men's basketball for over three decades, passed away at the age of 69. He was inducted into the UH Sports Circle of Honor in 2023, called more than 400 football broadcasts – the longest announcer streak in program history – and several hundred more men's basketball games during a career that spanned 32 seasons.
