Activists protest against Ed Case’s vote in support of SAVE Act

A few dozen activists from Indivisible Hawaii Statewide Network and other political groups gathered outside Democratic U.S. Rep. Ed Case’s office Wednesday along Bishop Street to protest his vote with the Republican majority in support of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, which the House passed 220-208 on April 10. The SAVE Act requires proof of U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections, and critics contend it is aimed at suppressing minority voting.
