Letter: University of Hawaii should partner with state on Kahana Valley

Your view that a private partnership might help the state Department of Land and Natural Resources “get back on track” managing this natural treasure is a wonderful one (“Enforce leases in Kahana Valley,” Star-Advertiser, Our View, April 10).

I would vote for the University of Hawaii as a partner.

Hawaiian studies, language arts, agriculture, history, traditional practices need study. This “laboratory for sharing Native Hawaiian culture” fits a university setting perfectly. I hope this partnership is considered.
