Letter: Tsuneyoshi takes stand for everyone on Oahu

Finally we have a bold and true representative on the Honolulu City Council representing all the people on Oahu (“HART should pay its own legal fees, councilwoman says,” Star-Advertiser, July 9). The public can no longer trust politicians and public servants who have taken the oath to uphold the laws of Hawaii.

Councilwoman Heidi Tsuneyoshi is simply requesting that the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation follow the requirements of the Honolulu Charter that has already earmarked legal expenses in the budget. Tsune-yoshi is a newcomer to the Council yet she possess the qualities of a seasoned councilmember, always working for accountability and justification for requests coming before the Council.
