Jason Genegabus previously served as a digital content producer at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. He was born and raised on Oahu and is a graduate of the University of Southern California. He joined the staff of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin in 2000, where he worked his way up from an entry-level messenger position to serve as editor of the paper's weekly arts and entertainment section, HILife, until the Star-Bulletin merged with the Honolulu Advertiser in 2010. He was also one of the first to embrace social media and was among the paper's first bloggers.
Genegabus also served as entertainment editor/online at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser from 2010-2016, organizing and managing all content posted on the
Honolulu Pulse, which was named a finalist by Editor & Publisher Magazine in the 2011 EPPY Awards for Best Entertainment Website. He has also covered nightlife, music, food and other subjects for the newspaper, and created content for use online at staradvertiser.com.
