In an ever-changing international marketplace, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser is proud to present the Hawai‘i Hotel & Restaurant Show. As the official trade show of both the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association (HLTA) and Hawai‘i Restaurant Association (HRA), this annual event will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, May 29 & 30, 2019 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Hawai‘i Convention Center (1801 Kalakaua Ave). Showcasing the very best from Hawai‘i and beyond, attendees will discover what’s new in lodging, hospitality and food service.
“I am very excited that the HLTA is partnering with Star-Advertiser and the Hawai‘i Restaurant Association to hold the first-ever Hawai‘i Hotel and Restaurant Show,” said Mufi Hannemann, President and CEO of the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association. “All three organizations are committed to making this event the premier hospitality trade show in the state at our new venue, the Hawai‘i Convention Center.”
“Featuring Enterprise Rent A Car, Samsung and many other global brands, this event will present new and unique opportunities for vendors and guests such as educational seminars by industry experts, live demonstrations and the latest trends in technology,” said Tom Jones, Chair-elect of the Hawai‘i Restaurant Association and President of Gyotaku Restaurants. “Industry leaders won’t want to miss the networking opportunities at Wednesday evening’s “Pau Hana” event while enjoying some of the most popular cocktails, pupu (appetizers) and entertainment in Hawaii today.”
“With this new addition to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s line of annual expo and fair products, our team is able to use valuable experience to provide professionals with the knowledge they need to compete locally, nationally and internationally,” said Dennis Francis, President and Publisher of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. “The Hawai‘i Hotel & Restaurant Show is an all-inclusive resource that brings the best of Hawai‘i and the Pacific Rim together. We are also pleased to announce that a portion of the event proceeds will go to HLTA and HRA student scholarship funds.”
HRA Board Member Michael Miller added “Informative seminars will include a presentation from Chris Duque of the Honolulu Police Department on cyber security and policy updates from the Liquor Commission as well as employee recruitment strategies and maximizing online reviews on the Internet with a presentation from John Carrol of the popular international website Yelp!.”
