HONOLULU – Official trade show of the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association (HLTA) and Hawai‘i Restaurant Association (HRA), the inaugural Hawai‘i Hotel & Restaurant Show is preparing to open on Wednesday and Thursday, May 29 and 30 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Hawai‘i Convention Center (1801 Kalakaua Avenue). Showcasing the very best from Hawai‘i and beyond, professionals as well as students will experience the latest in lodging, hospitality and food service.

“Sponsored by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, I am excited that our first show will feature such notable brands as Enterprise Rent A Car, Samsung and Hawaiian Electric Company alongside suppliers from across the Islands and beyond,” said Mufi Hannemann, President and CEO of the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association. “Attendees will experience live demonstrations and new trends at the Technology & New Products Pavilion – from cyber security to sustainability and social media to food & beverage.”

“This event will present new and unique opportunities for both vendors and guests including educational seminars from a broad range of speakers. Yelp!, Sysco and the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association are just a few of the participating organizations. Star Events is also unveiling an app for registered attendees and exhibitors allowing enhanced networking opportunities while making it easy to stay informed with continuous updates on the dozens of activities taking place at any given moment.,” said Tom Jones, Chair-elect of the Hawai‘i Restaurant Association and President of Gyotaku Restaurants.

The Hawai‘i Hotel & Restaurant Show is for professionals and students in the lodging, travel, hospitality and food service industries including those employed by hotels, restaurants and related service companies. Admission is free but attendees must pre-register online and be approved prior to arrival.

Sponsored by Hawaiian Electric Company, parking for the first 600 vehicles each day is free. Afterwards, a discounted Convention Center rate of $8 applies. Complimentary trolley shuttle service is also available between a selection of Waikiki hotels and the convention center courtesy of Waikiki Trolley.
