Union greed followed closely by gross incompetence by our elected officials and business leaders got us into this square corner. They’ve never told Hawaii’s hardworking taxpayers the true costs and future risks of rail in Hawaii. These three entities need to lower their heads and apologize for thier grand and costly self motivated mistake.
AmericanTaxpayer, we must transform the “Rail” project to a “Toll Reversible Highway” for vehicles.
Couldn’t agree more. Hawaii needs leaders who can think out of the box and offer new ideas of how to continue roadway in the future – similar to yours.

State should step in and support the project. There’s no reason this had to be shouldered completely by the City.
Make the people on the neighbor islands pay for Moo Fee’s Folly too! After all, they get to skim off Oahu’s taxes for their pork…

I would like to see a task force set up to follow the money, all of the money. This task force needs to be independent and have the power to really deal with this. I want the Rail to go to Ala Moana but I don’t like waste.

Tear it down! The guide way is falling apart before they even put a train on it. The cost to insure safety will be insurmountable. This whole project is a train wreck waiting to happen. Cut our losses and save some lives, tear it down.
Rail construction should end where the overheads are completed now, then transition to ground level. Should be much cheaper to construct and maintain, and would not be an eyesore.
Countries around the World use their RAIL Systems to lifestyle and economic success! If the neigh sayers of this project have their way, we will continue to live in poor lifestyle and economic struggle!
It’s proven throughout the World that Rail systems work! We are not the first of users of rail, we are the one’s who are behind and continue to be left behind!
I’ve seen the success that Countries like Japan thrive on their Rail system!
Only the Federal Government and those who have business tax licenses pay for rail! On every $10,000.00 gross that’s only $50 DOLLARS!!!!! so small of an investment for great,great rewards!!!!!

How about they stop taking bribes for bad cheap construction that is falling apart already! Too much corruption and incompetence.
The annual operating cost will bankrupt the city, especially when they discover that ridership numbers will be lower than forecast.
There will never be enough money to extend the rail past Middle Street. This project is dead after Middle Street. The real problems are yet to come. With the cracks in the structures
people will be afraid to ride the rail. If built the rail will not be operating on a regular basis due to defects.
For those who voted to complete rail, where is the money gonna come from? Like money isn’t a problem? Gee whiz.
We should do what ever Panos thinks we should do. He’s been right about everything up to this point.
The majority wants to cancel the project or stop it at Middle Street. Stop this project before it sucks all our blood out and ruin the beauty of Oahu.
How much is the Mayor’s renumeration? is the taxpayer the Master or the bank at $200,000? Guess?
