Need to revitalize Honolulu!
All I see are concrete structures between Seaside and Kaiulani. How is that good for Hawaii?
Investing in improvements in our visitor industry is a good idea. Agreeing on what an improvement is is more of a subjective issue.
As long as it’s mostly private sector money, fine. When they start expecting taxpayers to do all the contributions, then game over.
You mean they are really going to try and get rid of the hookers, drug dealers, peddlers, and homeless???
Yes, restore paradise! If not natural paradise, at least tourist paradise (no hookers, no homeless, etc.).
Developing Kuhio Ave was going to happen as there really was no where else to go in Waikiki. I would expect that in the future, there will be attempts to develop the prime piece of
land on which the Ala Wai golf course sits. When that happens, look for development to move into the Kapahulu Ave area.
The train will require increasing property taxes. Increasing the property tax base by permitting all possible new buildings – in Waikiki and anywhere else — will minimize voter outrage over the property tax increases. That’s the plan.
Whatever they build, they better put it on stilts. Rising sea levels will make them all accessible by water. Better design their parking lot ramps to work as launching ramps too. Could be like Venice! 🙂
