Gov. David Ige backs wind farm’s construction in Kahuku

About a dozen protesters Tuesday stayed overnight at the entrance to Kahuku Agricultural Park as they continued rallying against the planned wind farm of eight turbines at a site leased from the state.

The company planning to build a wind farm in Kahuku “should be allowed to proceed,” Gov. David Ige’s office said Tuesday as protesters continued to rally at the construction site.
