A 54-year-old man died Wednesday after he was pulled from the water at Waianae Boat Harbor, first responders said.
At about 11 a.m., a fisherman found the younger man unresponsive in the water off Waianae Boat Harbor, an Emergency Medical Services report said.
Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Scot Seguirant said firefighters also responded and retrieved the victim, who was about a quarter-mile from shore.
Firefighters brought the man back to shore and turned him over to an EMS crew who pronounced him dead at the scene.
Michelle Yu, Honolulu police spokeswoman, said the man has been tentatively identified. There are no suspicious circumstances at this time, and the case has been classified as an unattended death.
About two hours after the first victim was found unconscious, a good Samaritan found the 60-year-old man unresponsive in the water near Ala Wai Harbor. Lifeguards brought him to shore and began CPR. An EMS crew took over and took the man to a hospital in critical condition.
