Super Bowl is super for New Orleans
All the hoopla this week leading up to Sunday’s Super Bowl is a marketing bonanza for New Orleans, host of the big game between the 49ers and the Ravens. Not only have makeshift TVāstudios been erected from which broadcasters are reporting live, but taped segments are enticing viewers and potential visitors on just about every aspect of The Big Easy, from history and culture, to food and drink. Gimme some of that cajun crawfish and jambalaya.
We in Hawaii, which also basked in lots of media sunshine during last week’s Pro Bowl, certainly can relate — and appreciate it all.
This is the 10th time New Orleans is hosting the Super Bowl since the big game started in 1967 in Los Angeles. A quick check shows it’s a favored venue, along with Miami and Tampa, and southern California. Next year’s Super Bowl will be at an atypical cold-weather site: New York. Brrrrrr.
