Indigenous artisans from various parts of the globe will bring their wares to Kapiolani Community College for the Makeke Arts Market, part of the World Indigenous People’s Conference on Education 2014, which runs Monday to Saturday at the college.
Items range from food, clothing, fine art and jewelry to books, handmade soap and household items.
Participants include Ojibway First Nations artisans from Quebec, Love Chance from the Cherokee Nation, and visual artists from Australia.
In addition, the market will screen free films and feature tattooing, healing practitioners and music.
Market hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in KCC’s Ohia Building.
