Cook and Spieler, the No. 8 seeds, went 3-0 in pool play and won their quarterfinal against Guatemala before falling to Cuba in the semifinals. In the bronze-medal match, Cook and Spieler topped Canada’s Helene Rancourt and Sarah Meunier-Bedard 21-18, 21-13.
Cook and Spieler were teammates on the 2014 UH squad, but did not pair up that season. They have paired up in three AVP events over the past two months.
